The Nationaal Archief (Dutch National Archives) is the ‘national memory’ of the Netherlands. We hold 110 kilometres of documents, photos and maps both from the central government, as well as from organizations and persons of national importance (past and present).

    This month a start is made with conserving and digitizing part of the archive of the Second or New West India Company (NWIC). The project is financed by the Metamorfoze program. The collection will be available on www.gahetna.nl as soon as digitization is finalized. The archive of the Old West India Company (1621-1674) is already on line.

    The Koninklijke Bibliotheek (KB: National Library) and the Nationaal Archief (NA: National Archives) of the Netherlands will be integrated into one organization.
