All archives (or parts thereof) must meet the required standard of being ‘proper, organised and accessible’ records in order to qualify for transfer. These standards are described in the brochure ‘Om de Kwaliteit van het Behoud, Normen Goede en Geordende Staat’ (On Quality Conservation: Condition and Organisation Standards), the Regeling duurzaamheid archiefbescheiden (Regulation on preservation of archival records) and the Regeling geordende en toegankelijke staat archiefbescheiden (Regulation on the organised and accessible state of archival records).
Archives that do not meet these standards and regulations must be processed before they can be transferred.
