In June 2011 the MCH team visited Brazil to establish a Working Program with Arquivo Nacional (Rio de Janeiro). This Working Program is part of a series, organized by the Nationaal Archief together with each of the priority countries. In Brazil, the MCH team visited the Ministry of Culture, UNESCO, the Brazilian Institute of Museums (IBRAM) and other authorities to discuss possible cooperation.
During the visit, the MCH team also met with several institutions to discuss the exchanging of scans of historical documents for the forthcoming MCH website. The team reached an agreement with the Instituto Archeologico, Historico y Geografico de Pernambuco (IAHGP) about exchanging scans of Vingboons maps for The Comprehensive Atlas of the West India Company, Vol. I The Old WIC, 1621-1674 (Atlas Maior).
